Energy efficiency updates have been made to both the RL838/858 and TL 838/868 series. In order to update your TV with the latest firmware and take advantage of these changes please follow the below methods:

*Please note, the TV must have an active internet connection in order to perform a firmware update.

Connection to the internet can be obtained by LAN connection or by WiFi (using the required WiFi dongle)

Connection can be confirmed by performing a ‘Network Connection test’. This can be done by selecting ‘Preferences’ -> ‘Network Setup’ ->‘Network Connection Test’

Method 1:

Automatic Network update

When the TV goes to standby the Network SW update is checked, upon power on of the TV the following message will be displayed (after 1-2 mins):

‘A Software upgrade is available. Do you wish to upgrade? Yes/No’, to update your TV select Yes.

Method 2:

Manual Network update

In order to make the TV search for a firmware update at any point in time follow the below instructions:

Select Setup menu -> Software Upgrade -> Select Network update

The TV will then look on the network for new firmware and if available a update prompt will be displayed
